“Helluva lot of optimism” carries through multiple categories

14th April 2025

Numbers were back over 2000 head today following last week’s washout with the bigger numbers failing to dampen the market. Tamworth Livestock Agents (TLA) President, Tim Hollis, told ABC New England North west last Friday that the store sale showed a “helluva lot of optimism with the great Autumn break coming to fruition.” That trend largely continued today in the prime cattle. Export cattle sold very well, “north of 380c/kg”,  and feeder market was fully firm eventhough the cow market was softer after last week;s spike in prices.  Dearer trends were also quoted by the National Livestock Reporting Service across most categories.
