Walcha Rd weaners nudge 500c/kg

Some outstanding quality weaners sold to just under 500c/kg in Tamworth today with 242 mixed sex Angus and black baldy  weaners sold by Elders on account Wallacey, Walcha Rd selling to 498c/kg for the steers and 398c/kg for the heifers. The Tivoli Angus and Knowla 3R sired calves averaged 225kg/$900 for the heifers and 270kg/$1300 for the steers.

A draft of 60 “exceptional quality”, EU accredited, Booroomooka and Knowla blood Angus steers sold by Davidson Cameron on account Southwell Grazing was another standout in the sale. They sold to 476c/kg and averaged 344kg to return $1600/head in a market quoted by Meat and Livestock Australia (MLA) as “dearer to substantially dearer” in numerous categories.
