“ There's no more exciting time to be part of the beef industry with rain down south tightening supplies and a fabulous Spring ahead as the rain moves away.” That was the message from Tim Hollis, Nutrien as he kicked off another store sale.  Tim’s confidence was reflected in the market with weaner steers making close to 600c/kg and the lighter yarding of heifers also selling very well.

Yearling steers sold to $1890 and weaners to $1670. Heifers sold to $1360 for Angus heifers straight off their mothers and $1800 for yearling Angus heifers. Limited cows and calves sold to $2900, heifers and calves to $2300 and PTIC sold to $1650.

Volume vendors included Turnbull Livestock who sold 137 mixed sex yearlings off their Upper Horton property "Kingsland". The steers sold to $1890 and the heifers $1800 and averaged $1770/head and $1560/head.  Elders also sold 96 mixed sex weaners and yearlings on account Liftmont, Niangala. 43 Angus and black baldy steers sold to $1700 and averaged $1400 and 53 heifers sold to $1200.

Jordan and Karen Henry from Somerton sold 97 Angus and Euro heifers and 25 Angus and Hereford x steers through Davidson Cameron. The steers topped the weaner category at $1740 and averaged $1345/head and the heifers sold to $1360 and averaged $1026/head.
